APPEAL WON WHILE SHORTAGES PLAGUE THE CITY

On December 19, 2018 FivePoint went to the appeal board and won the appeal against us put forward by the Bridgeland Community Association. This was a major hurdle as we had been approved by The City of Calgary, the Province of Alberta and subsequently the governing body called the “AGLC”. The association appealed those approval decisions which put us in a precarious place of ‘maybe’.

Now that we have won back all of our original approvals we will for sure be in business! It’s simply a matter of when. While we had to stall our construction due to the uncertainty of the appeal, we now have recommenced construction with a projected finishing date of February 10th.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances in the legislative funnel and ultimately packaging requirements set out by the Federal government, there continues to be a product shortage in Alberta. To offset these issues, the AGLC has halted issuing any more licenses, and has not been able give us any further information in regard to when they expect to start reissuing licenses either.

Ultimately we’re excited to extend the news that FivePoint *will* be in business, but we realize we can’t give any guarantees as to when that will be. Stay tuned. We will keep everyone as up to date as we can going through the process.

FivePoint would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our many supporters, with particular acknowledgement of the on-going patience required going through these many hurdles coming out of prohibition. We thank each and every one of you that has shown interest and we appreciate the patience moving forward. One last hurdle to go and we can’t wait to have you in store!
